
The Lyme, New Hampshire real estate market saw fourteen (14) sales of single-family homes in the first three quarters of 2019, essentially matching the same period in 2018 which saw fifteen (15) sales. There were four (4) properties active under contract or pending as of this writing, likely to close prior to year-end.
Interestingly, inventory of homes in Lyme has been rising in recent years. Specifically, there were twenty-five (25) homes actively listed on October 1 of this year, up 25% from twenty (20) homes on the same date in 2018 and from a low of fourteen (14) homes in 2016.
Generally speaking, the town of Lyme is not known as a market with substantial inventory or yearly transactions. Post-2008 recession there has been an average of just fifteen (15) properties sold per year. However, properties in Lyme tend to be higher value than some of the neighboring towns, with the exception being Hanover and Norwich. For example, 70% of the twenty-five (25) homes listed on October 1 of this year were priced over $500,000.
