Life In

West Windsor

Mt. Ascutney, a central feature of West Windsor and the region as a whole, is an inspiration for artists, hikers, skiers, and anyone who enjoys exploring the natural world. The 3,144-foot high peak can be seen from many properties in West Windsor as well as from homes scattered high in the hills of other towns in the Greater Woodstock Area. The Mt. Ascutney State Park has four trailheads and features more than 12 miles of hiking trails. Two launch sites at the top of the mountain are frequently utilized by hang gliders looking to catch some serious air.

The town is also a hot bed for equestrianism, due to its proximity to South Woodstock and the Green Mountain Horse Association (GMHA). The GMHA trails span 117 square miles, and in total, there are over 400 miles of trail and dirt roads that span the four towns of West Windsor, Reading, Hartland, and Woodstock. There are frequently equestrian properties for sale in West Windsor which have exceptional access to the rich trail network.
