The likely explanation for this decrease is twofold. The uncharacteristically high number of sales that took place in 2017 likely left fewer houses on the market at the beginning of 2018. Secondly, inventory in Woodstock, and surrounding towns in general, appears to be declining as buying activity in most towns has continued at elevated levels. Of the eleven (11) houses currently listed for sale the average price was $658,000, and just three were listed for under $400,000 – demonstrating the limited number of more affordable homes in Bridgewater.
