Woodstock VT Land for Sale

Land for sale in Woodstock Vermont has always been a valuable commodity. Woodstock VT was chartered in 1761 and named for Woodstock of Oxford, England. Settlement began in 1768 by James Sanderson and family, followed by Major Joab Hoisington who built a gristmill and later a sawmill on the Ottauquechee River. The river would continue to drive settlement and industry in the area, and prosperous Woodstock’s population grew to over 3,000 by the mid-1800’s. Population and prosperity remain roughly the same, although tourism and real estate have replaced manufacturing.
